These terms govern your use of usie. By using the app, you agree to these terms. Keep it simple: be kind, be respectful, and enjoy capturing memories with your partner.
About usie
usie is a couples photo-sharing app that helps you document your journey together. The app offers:
- usie Mode: Capture photos together — the app uses face detection to ensure both partners are in frame
- twosie Mode: Take separate selfies that pair together in your shared timeline
- Time Capsules: Record videos or photos and lock them to open in the future (1 week, 1 month, 1 year, or custom date)
- Memory Calendar: Browse your shared memories by date
- Milestone Markers: Tag special life events on your photos
- Themes: Personalize your app with 40+ beautiful themes
- Streaks: Track consecutive days of posting together
Using usie
Who Can Use It
You must be at least 13 years old to use usie. If you're under 18, please have a parent or guardian review these terms with you.
Your Account
You sign in using Sign in with Apple. You're responsible for keeping your account secure. Your Apple ID credentials are managed by Apple — we never see your password.
One Partner Connection
usie is designed for two people. You can only be connected to one partner at a time. To connect with someone new, you'll need to disconnect from your current partner first.
Invite Codes
Each user gets a unique invite code to share with their partner. When your partner enters your code, you'll be connected and can start sharing photos.
Camera & Face Detection
usie uses your device's camera and Apple's Vision framework for face detection. By using usie mode (together photos), you consent to:
- The app accessing your device camera
- On-device face detection to count faces in frame (not identify them)
- This processing happens entirely on your device — no facial data is sent to our servers
Content Guidelines
Your shared space is private, but please:
- Only share content you have the right to share
- Don't upload illegal content
- Respect your partner's privacy and consent
- Don't use usie to harass or harm anyone
- Don't attempt to access other users' content
Your Content
You own everything you upload. We don't claim any rights to your photos or videos. We only store and display them to provide the service to you and your partner.
By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the usie service.
usie Pro Subscription
usie offers a premium subscription called "usie Pro" with enhanced features:

- Unlimited photos (usies + twosies)
- Unlimited time capsules
- Unlimited memories
- Unlock all 40+ premium themes
- Both partners get Pro when one subscribes — one subscription covers both of you!
Subscription Options
- Monthly: Billed every month, cancel anytime
- Yearly: Billed annually at a discounted rate
Prices may vary by country or region. The exact price will be displayed in the app before purchase.
Subscription Terms
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions)
- Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription
- Refunds are handled by Apple according to their App Store policies
Disconnecting & Account Deletion
Disconnecting from Partner
When you disconnect from your partner:
- You'll keep your account and profile
- You can connect with a new partner using invite codes
- Previously shared content may still be visible to your former partner unless deleted
Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account anytime from the app settings. When you delete your account:
- Your account is immediately deactivated
- Your profile will appear as "Deleted" to your partner
- Shared photos and time capsules remain accessible to your partner
30-Day Reactivation Period
We offer a grace period in case you change your mind:
- If you sign back in within 30 days, your account will be automatically reactivated
- All your data (profile, photos, videos) will be restored
- After 30 days, your account and all data are permanently deleted
- Permanent deletion cannot be undone
Termination
We may terminate or suspend accounts that:
- Violate these terms
- Upload illegal or harmful content
- Attempt to exploit or abuse the service
- Harass other users
Disclaimer
usie is provided "as is" and "as available." While we work hard to keep things running smoothly:
- We can't guarantee the service will always be available or error-free
- We're not responsible for any content you or your partner upload
- We're not liable for any loss of data, though we take reasonable precautions to prevent it
- Use of face detection technology is subject to Apple's terms and the capabilities of your device
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, usie and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms occasionally. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
